Learn MoreThe rubber seal is slightly higher than the door, there is a bouncing tension in between the door and the rubber seal to make the whole chute airtight and the whole door is concealed — there's no reason for the cockroaches to come in.
Cockroaches will not come out but fogging smoke maybe will a bit or maybe not at all depends on the level you stay and the pressure they input.
To ensure the chute is tightly closed up, you will need to push firmly right above the R logo's latch till it is completely locked due to the rubber is slightly higher than the door.
Always keep the chute (both inner and outer surface) dry to avoid oxidation caused by water. You may remove with WD40 if corrosion is found.
Do no wash with soap or detergent on the entire chute area. Refrain pouring oil or water into the chute as different chemical compounds will affect the stainless steel to corrode and will cause a breakdown of the rubber seal over a period of time.
Using paintbrush, to brush off debris on all surrounding of the rubber seal every quarterly (3 months). 2 years warranty based on manufacturing defects. Company Policy: Warranty will be invalidated if chute is found misused or lack of proper maintenance. Basic Maintenance: Use dry cloth to clean the outer surface.
I highly recommend Riben renovation contractor for their high quality stainless steel rubbish chute. Engaged riben stainless steel rubbish chute sometimes ago for my sister house. Everything is fast and smooth. The reason for my sister to change her hip chute is small roaches crawl into the house from the open latch. Riben design is airtight and solve the problem. My sister is very impressed of this quality chute. Compare to normal type. So far 1 year up and the chute is still doing good and definitely highly recommended to anyone looking for good quality, airtight chute replacement.
